Kolbe Academy evaluates official high school transcripts for new transfer students and for currently enrolled students who complete coursework outside of Kolbe Academy. The evaluation process is outlined below for both transfer and returning students.

Transfer Students & Transcript Requirements

High school students transferring to Kolbe Academy, including students who are part-time then upgrade to a full-time enrollment, must submit official transcripts for evaluation of prior high school coursework. Please refer to the tuition website for information regarding the transfer/transcript evaluation fee.

Credit must be transferred directly from an official transcript from the school that issued the credit. If coursework was completed at multiple schools, an official transcript from each school is required. Send official transcripts to [email protected] to start the evaluation process. If a transfer student is transferring from your own homeschool, a Homeschool Transcript may be submitted. Read the Homeschool Transcripts article for more information. International transcripts that are not in English or that use a crediting system different from the U.S. system must be translated and/or converted to the U.S. system by a credential evaluation provider prior to Kolbe’s evaluation. If needed, we will let you know which approved provider to use.

Fully Enrolled Returning Students & Transcript Requirements

Actively enrolled students who complete high school and post-secondary coursework outside of Kolbe Academy may also submit official transcripts for evaluation. Once official transcripts are received, Kolbe Academy will evaluate the courses, grades, and credits to determine eligibility to transfer coursework onto the student’s Kolbe Academy academic record. Kolbe's policy is that no more than 8 academic courses can be reported per school year on the transcript. Please speak with your advisor before registering in coursework outside of Kolbe Academy.

If coursework was completed at multiple schools, an official transcript from each school is required. Send official transcripts to [email protected] to start the evaluation process. Fully enrolled students may not submit homeschool transcripts for credit evaluation and must instead use the custom course pre-approval process. International transcripts that are not in English or that use a crediting system different from the U.S. system must be translated and/or converted to the U.S. system by a credential evaluation provider prior to Kolbe’s evaluation. If needed, we will let you know which approved provider to use.

Transfer Credit Policies

Upon receipt of an official transcript to [email protected], Kolbe Academy evaluates course titles, descriptions, grades, and credit amounts to determine which courses are eligible to transfer onto the student’s Kolbe Academy academic record. Kolbe staff may also contact the issuing school to get further course information.

Course grades and credit amounts as reported on the external transcript are converted from the issuing school’s system to Kolbe Academy’s system. Please be aware that not all transfer courses may be accepted, some courses may not be factored into Kolbe’s GPA, and in some cases letter grades may be converted to P/F.  Final evaluation decisions are made by Kolbe Academy in accordance with our academic policies.

After the evaluation is complete, parents will receive an unofficial transcript reflecting the updated academic record for review.
