Kolbe Academy is committed to providing students with an education rooted in Catholic values and academic excellence that is flexible enough to meet the needs and preferences of families.  In addition to offering classes in a homeschool, asynchronous and live online format, classes are also offered in a variety of levels of depth and rigor.

Core

Core courses aim to provide students with a comprehensive and rigorous study of the subject matter.  The curriculum at this level is designed in such a way that the academic rigor of assignments and assessments, expected student workload, and course pacing are appropriate for most students.

Foundations

Foundations courses provide students with the opportunity to study the same subject matter as in core courses, but at a level of academic rigor that some students find to be more approachable.  Students in Foundations courses can expect slightly lower degree of academic rigor, a more manageable workload, and slower pacing as compared to core courses, while still having the opportunity to acquire the knowledge and skills that are foundational to a classical Catholic education.

Honors

Honors courses provide students with the opportunity to study the same subject matter as in core courses but are intended for students who are high-performing and interested in deeper exploration of the discipline.  Students in honors courses can expect a higher degree of academic rigor, a more challenging workload, and faster course pacing as compared to core courses.

AP

Advanced Placement (AP) courses are academically rigorous, college-level courses that are intended for students who are high-performing, interested in advanced study, and wish to earn college credit.  These courses are aligned to rigorous curriculum standards and culminate in comprehensive standardized AP exams, which are administered by the College Board in-person at brick-and-mortar schools.
