Kolbe Academy supports students students with diagnosed or suspected learning needs through our Special Education program. These services begin with an initial consultation meeting with member of our Special Education team to determine the level of support needed including accommodations, interventions, and goal setting. 
 

Consultation 

A member of the Special Education team will review your student’s educational history and create an individualized learning plan for your student’s academic year. During the initial consultation, you will discuss course recommendations, available support programming along with accommodations and modifications that may be necessary to help your child succeed.  We will work together to craft a plan specific to your child’s needs and abilities. 

Accommodations 

Kolbe Academy offers a variety of accommodations in both online and homeschool courses.  During your initial consultation, a member of the Special Education team will review all possibilities and make sure that your child has what he or she needs to be able to succeed within the classes and formats of your choice.

Resource Labs 

The Resource program is an available add on for students enrolled in our Special Education program.  These are small group labs staffed by Special Education teachers which pair alongside a student’s online courses to provide additional support and accommodations.  Additional tuition rates apply.

Resource 3-5 

This live online lab is for students who would benefit from increased support from one of our resource teachers in a small group setting.  The teacher will support the instruction from the student’s online classes in all core subject areas, facilitate accommodations, target individual student goals and provide ongoing progress monitoring.   

Writing Resource Lab 6-12

This live online lab will support students who would benefit from more intensive instruction in a small group setting. This lab will provide support and facilitate accommodations for the student’s humanities classes including Theology, English/Literature and History.  The teacher will also target specific student goals in reading and writing and provide ongoing progress monitoring. 

Math Resource Lab 6-12 
 

This live online lab will support students who would benefit from more intensive instruction in a small group setting. This lab will provide support and facilitate accommodations for the student’s Math and Science courses.  The teacher will also target specific student goals in math and provide ongoing progress monitoring.
