Middle School:

To ensure middle school students are prepared for Kolbe's high school math and science sequence, we strongly recommend students follow the sequence as outlined below. Contact your family advisor to discuss selecting courses for your student.

Note: General science is intended to help students bridge the gap between middle and high school science. A student who has not completed pre-algebra, or who lacks science fundamentals like significant figures, unit conversions, etc. may benefit from taking general science before IPC.  Students who have completed pre-algebra and who have a strong science background may move from Earth science to IPC and omit general science.

High School:

Students may accelerate in math, but science course progression depends on having the required math pre- or co-requisites fulfilled. To ensure high school students are prepared for Kolbe's chemistry-focused Biology and for Chemistry and Physics, we strongly recommend all students complete our Intro to Physics and Chemistry course. Contact your family advisor to discuss selecting courses for your student.

*Students should complete Physics before registering for an AP science course. Our core or Honors science sequences provides students a well-rounded science education in keeping with our classical arts identity
