Grade and Subject Placement

Kolbe parents may select Homeschool (Traditional and Digital) and Asynchronous courses two levels above or below their student’s enrolled grade level. In order to receive credit for a course in high school, however, the course must be high school level. In middle school and high school, a few math, science, and language courses have pre-requisites or co-requisites for enrollment. Please see our course catalog for details and speak with your advisor for academic guidance.

Parents may use our grade level assessments and subject-specific assessments. They are available, along with their answer keys, in our Help Center free of charge. These tests are administered and graded by the parent. You are welcome to contact your advisor if you would like to discuss the results of these tests or receive advice about our curriculum options in any subject area. Please keep in mind that you are able to customize a curriculum for your student based upon their grade level in individual subjects.

Please click here for our grade level assessments.

Subject-Specific Tests

Feel free to utilize the following subject-specific tests to assist with selecting appropriate course(s) for your child.

Placement Tests for Online Courses

Completing these assessments do not replace the required placement testing for students who are new to online courses or returning to online courses after a gap year of enrollment. Please find more information on the required placement tests for K-8 students here or for 9-12 students here.
